Who we are

The Cricket Foundation ...

… is an independent, registered charity, fully endorsed by the England and Wales Cricket Board.

… is answerable to a Board of Trustees and accountable to the Charity Commissioners.

… is in partnership with the ECB; County Cricket Boards and Clubs; the Lord’s Taverners; the MCC; the Professional Cricketers’ Association; Local Authorities and Schools.

… has invested, over the past nine years, £27 million through County Cricket Boards to create more and better opportunities for young people to play cricket and to learn to play it well.

… is now concentrating nearly all its efforts on Chance to shine – the biggest concerted drive to bring competitive sport back to state schools.

Ambitions

  • To establish high-quality, sustainable cricket programmes for schools
  • To raise £25 million over five years to realize our goal
  • To secure government funding that will match this sum pound for pound
